About the Role

Reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor, you will join a supportive team of 4 other Allocators managing local transport opertaons across South East Queensland.

You’ll oversee two key areas: getting raw materials delivered into 5 local manufacturing plants, and delivering finished products out to customer sites.

To keep the workload fair, dynamic, and easy to manage, daily tasks rotate between the team:

  • Live Operations (2 Allocators): Keep track of today’s runs, make sure deliveries are on time, and resolve any unexpected live issues i.e. traffic, wet weather, site or resource issues.

  • Forward Planning (2 Allocators): Look ahead at upcoming orders, arrange raw material deliveries, organise transport and book contractors.

  • Team Support (1 Allocator): Act as the dedicated problem-solver when Customer Service Officers (CSOs) bring through last-minute customer order change requests or urgent issues. Provides additional support to the other Allocators and Operations Supervisor if needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fleet Allocation: Assign delivery runs for company trucks and contractor fleets to keep transport running efficiently.

  • Site & Stock Monitoring: Keep an eye on raw material levels and production capacity across 5 local plants.

  • CSO Teamwork: Check plant schedules and material stock when CSOs reach out with extra orders or client changes, advising on what can be done.

  • Team Rotation: Rotate smoothly through Live Ops, Forward Planning, and Urgent Request duties.

  • System Updates & Safety: Keep dispatch systems accurate and ensure driver runs comply with standard fatigue management and road safety rules.

What we are looking for:

● Prior experience in driver allocation, transport dispatch, or logistics planning.

● Background in heavy transport, manufacturing, civil supply, or building materials is a bonus, but not required.

● Practical problem-solving skills and comfort working with numbers and plant capacity.

● Intermediate computer skills - experience in Microsoft Office and either a dispatch, transport, booking, scheduling or inventory software.

● Demonstrated issue resolution experience and experience with having to keep across multiple things simultaneously.

● You thrive in a busy fast-paced environment.

● Resilient and reliable with a strong work ethic.
